"The House That ______ Built!"
When I walk past a house, it does not call out to me, "Hey, look at me!" If I walk through its cozy rooms or spacious living areas it does not boast, "See how wonderful I have made myself." I know the reality is that the house was designed and then built and furnished by someone. The house did not come into existence and become a magnificent dwelling all on its own. It is the DESIGNER AND BUILDER who would do the boasting because they deserve the credit for what has become.
In reference to God's people united in Christ, the Hebrew writer stated. . .
"(3) For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses -- as much more glory as THE BUILDER OF A HOUSE HAS MORE HONOR THAN THE HOUSE ITSELF. (4) (For every house is built by someone, but the BUILDER OF ALL THINGS IS GOD.) (5) Now Moses was faithful in all GOD'S HOUSE as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, (6) but Christ is faithful over GOD'S HOUSE as a son. And WE ARE HIS HOUSE if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope." ( Hebrews 3:3-6 ESV)
There is no room to boast in what our life has become. Like Paul we need to humbly admit "BY THE GRACE OF GOD I AM WHAT I AM." ( 1 Corinthians 15:10 ESV) We may boast about the hope that is ours, but the glory belongs to the One Who has provided it. Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Let us live each day in a manner in which those around us will ultimately notice we are A WORK OF THE HANDS OF GOD. We are HIS HOUSE. May each room of our life reflect the tastes of God that He may receive the honor He deserves. There is no better "DESIGN TEAM" than the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Have a great day HONORING GOD AS HIS HOUSE!
