Plans For Us!
Sometimes people try to make plans for others. If this is done by more than one person, those plans can end up in conflict with each other. Differing plans place the person for which the plans are made in the position of having to choose what plans they will allow to take place for them. An individual finding themselves in the middle of others developing opposing LIFE PLANS can feel agitated and torn as to which direction to go.
There is a sense in which knowing others have enough interest in our life to help develop a LIFE PLAN may make us feel good. However, to what end is that interest? Remember both God and the devil have plans for us and those plans are definitely in conflict with each other.
The Hebrew writer stated. . .
"(14) Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, HE himself likewise partook of the same things, that THROUGH DEATH HE MIGHT DESTROY THE ONE WHO HAS THE POWER OF DEATH, THAT IS, THE DEVIL, (15) and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery." ( Hebrews 2:14-15 ESV)
The Hebrew writer was speaking of the contrasting work of Jesus and that of the devil. Between them, there are two plans with us in mind. The devil's plan is to separate us from God. That is done through drawing us into sin and ultimately into spiritual death. God's plan involved paving the way through Jesus for our return to Him. That is reconciliation. Death is separation from God, but in Christ we see the Divine power of God over death. Jesus had to come in the flesh in order to die and accomplish this plan on our behalf.
Though the devil may have thought he won a victory when Christ was placed in the tomb, his "power of death" was no match for the Creator, Sustainer, and Renewer of life. Let us remember the power Jesus came to destroy as we accept the LIFE PLAN of God that leads to life eternally with Him.
Have a great day FOLLOWING GOD'S PLAN OF LIFE!
