Faithful Works!
In David's trusting view of his relationship with God, he wrote. . .
"(7) Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. (8) The LORD WILL FULFILL HIS PURPOSE FOR ME; your steadfast love, O LORD, endures forever. DO NOT FORSAKE THE WORK OF YOUR HANDS." ( Psalm 138:7-8 ESV)
We can trust in God to fulfill his purposes. His track record is one of continually following through on what He has purposed to do and declared He would accomplish. Faithfulness is a part of God's unchanging essence. (note 2 Timothy 2:13) Therefore our hope for an eternal future with Him can securely rest on His faithfulness.
Though we may sometimes need a plan B or C as we set out to accomplish our goals, God only needs a plan A. The question is not whether or not God will accomplish His purposes, but rather will we choose to be A FAITHFUL PART of them? Though like the psalmist we seek for God to "not forsake the work of [His] hands", we must guard against ourselves -- a work of His hands -- forsaking Him and His Will! It is not God's faithfulness, but our own that can often be called into question!
God has let us know where He stands. The question is where are we standing in relation to His purposes? Let us resolve to appropriately keep His Name and Word above all else. ( Psalm 138:2) May our life interests not rest merely on what we want, but rather on what God desires. The end result will ultimately be blessing we will truly want above all else!
Have a great day GENUINELY INTERESTED IN WHAT GOD IS DOING IN AND FOR US!
