The Beginning Of Re-Creation!

We noted yesterday the power of God's Word in Creation and its power in our life today. The Word was involved in Creation as John noted. . .

"(1) IN THE BEGINNING WAS THE WORD, and THE WORD WAS WITH GOD, and THE WORD WAS GOD. (2) He was IN THE BEGINNING WITH GOD. (3) All things were made through him, and WITHOUT HIM WAS NOT ANY THING MADE THAT WAS MADE. (4) In him was life, and the life was the light of men." ( John 1:1-4 ESV)

When we drop down to verse fourteen we find that John made it clear "THE WORD" to Whom he referred was Jesus, the Son of God; THE WORD that became flesh. The introduction of Jesus does not begin in a stable, but with the story of Creation. He is also of the utmost significance in the story of "RE-CREATION"! We must keep in mind where the process of renewal begins today and help others come to know that Source and blessing as well.

Paul wrote. . .
"(17) Therefore, IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATION. The old has passed away; behold, THE NEW HAS COME." ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV)

Jesus told Nicodemus, "You must be born again." ( John 3:7 ESV) Just as we experienced a physical birth, there is the necessity of a spiritual one. Each is a masterpiece of God's work of Creation and RE-CREATION" and to be a part of our life story. This new birth comes about through our association with Christ, as we noted Paul's statement above that those who are "IN CHRIST" are "A NEW CREATION." One must be "IN CHRIST" for this process to take place and Paul noted in his letter to the church at Galatia that "For as many of you as WERE BAPTIZED INTO CHRIST HAVE PUT ON CHRIST." ( Galatians 3:27)

Just as Jesus was in the beginning with God at the time of Creation, He is also the link to our RE-CREATION. IN HIM the blessing of "NEWNESS OF LIFE" comes. ( Romans 6:4, where Paul also clearly associated this "newness of life" with baptism.) Praise God for the NEWNESS He has provided in Christ!
