Sink Your Teeth Into It!
As a judge sat back in the chair of his dentist he remarked, “Please pull the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth.”
There are many today trying to pull a lot of things which are far from the truth. They toss out ideas and wait for us to bite. However, some of these ideas are like a wad of cotton candy; bite into it and it melts away; no nourishment; just sugar coating.
We are so much in need of something of substance in which to sink our teeth. With so many ideas out there, no wonder the question is still asked, “WHAT IS TRUTH?” (i.e. John 18:38)
Note part of Jesus’ prayer for His disciples:
“(17) Sanctify them in the truth; YOUR WORD IS TRUTH.” ( John 17:17 ESV)
The place for us to always begin is with God. He is the author and source of TRUTH. He cannot lie ( Hebrews 6:18). He has given us His Word so that we can know the TRUTH. I am thankful I can turn anywhere within the pages of the Bible and know I am looking at TRUTH. My next step is to meditate on it and ask God to help me understand and apply it to my daily life.
God has given us the TRUTH, the whole TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH.
Jude wrote:
“(3) Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was ONCE FOR ALL DELIVERED to the saints.” ( Jude 3 ESV)
Open up His TRUTH. Bite off a little. Chew on it through the day. Make this a part of your daily diet. Soon you will begin to feel what a difference spiritual nourishment will make in your daily decisions and general focus.
Have a great day NOURISHED BY GOD’S TRUTH!
