For The Keeping!

Some things may be there for the taking while others are kept for the keeping. Those things kept for the keeping are kept because they are possessions which have become very prized. Perhaps such items are displayed in the home for others to see, but the possessor does not want them to be removed from where they are.

Do we have a possession that is being kept for the keeping? Solomon referred to something we all possess that brings tremendous blessing in the keeping. In fact, to have it otherwise can create great distress. However, though some might think it a good thing for others, I don't believe we want it removed from where it is.

Solomon stated. . .
"Whoever KEEPS his mouth and his tongue KEEPS himself out of trouble." ( Proverbs 21:23 ESV)

When the mouth and tongue are restrained -- by being kept in check -- it KEEPS US OUT OF A LOT OF TROUBLE. Just like water having been released from a dam (i.e. Proverbs 17:14), once the words have left our lips, they cannot be drawn back in. Therefore, let us be mindful how dignity, peace, pride, reputation, and friendships are kept in the keeping of the mouth shut and the tongue held back.

Have a great day CAREFULLY WATCHING THAT WAGGING WONDER!
