Encouraged By The Contrast!

Some people make mountains out of mole hills. Others make light of significant things. Still others may see the bigness of even little things. Our perception of the things around us in life (situations, challenges, circumstances, lives of others, etc.) and even of our own selves is not always on target. Due to this tendency, the very things that should serve to encourage sometimes end up discouraging instead. Note two passages which ought to provide some great encouragement for us.

Through the prophet Isaiah we glimpse the following about our God.
“(8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. (9) For AS THE HEAVENS ARE HIGHER THAN THE EARTH, SO ARE MY WAYS HIGHER THAN YOUR WAYS AND MY THOUGHTS THAN YOUR THOUGHTS.” ( Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV)

Then from Paul we have the following stark contrast.
“(25) For the FOOLISHNESS OF GOD IS WISER THAN MEN, and the WEAKNESS OF GOD IS STRONGER THAN MEN.” ( 1 Corinthians 1:25 ESV)

Though these passages should humble us, I do not believe they were intended to make us feel insignificant. John 3:16 clearly indicates we are greatly significant to God. Why else would He be described as loving us enough to have given His Son? These passages ought to encourage us through our mindfulness of the greatness and hugeness of THE GOD IN WHOM WE TRUST! His higher plans and wisdom and power are for our benefit as we look beyond ourselves and begin to rely more TRUSTINGLY IN GOD!

“IN GOD WE TRUST”! That is an imprint on the coins and currency of the United States of America. Some in this country would like to see those words removed. That’s because some do not trust in Him. I submit that the greater significance would be for us to live in such a manner that “IN GOD WE TRUST” can be seen as the imprint on our life. By so doing others may begin to recognize the great significance of His wisdom and power and the huge difference it could also make in their own life. May we be encouraged by the greatness beyond us that is offered to work for us.

Have a great day WITH FAITH’S IMPRINT CLEARLY MARKING OUR LIFE!
