A Sweet Embrace! (part 3 of 3)

A match made in Heaven. A match that encompasses the realm of Heaven and earth. We have a God Who desires and has provided the means for such a relationship.

Let us again read the text we have considered over the past two days.
“(10) Steadfast love and faithfulness meet; righteousness and peace kiss each other. (11) FAITHFULNESS SPRINGS UP FROM THE GROUND, and RIGHTEOUSNESS LOOKS DOWN FROM THE SKY. (12) Yes, the Lord will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase. (13) Righteousness will go before him and make his footsteps a way.” ( Psalm 85:10-13 ESV)

We have noted the embrace of “steadfast love and faithfulness” and “righteousness and peace.” Here we see the relationship of “FAITHFULNESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS.” One is with a perspective from the ground upward while the other is a view from above. Perhaps the drawing together here is that of a response of FAITHFULNESS of mankind from earth toward the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God reaching down from Heaven. As the light of the sun helps draw plants up from the ground toward fruitfulness, the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God looks down from above with the desire of drawing up FAITHFULNESS in our life toward Him. Verse 13 seems to imply RIGHTEOUSNESS as being the path of God. To walk with Him we must FAITHFULLY embrace His Way of RIGHTEOUSNESS and walk in it!

If we are standing on the ground of the truth of God, with His RIGHTEOUSNESS shining above us, we should be naturally drawn up in FAITHFULNESS to Him and His Will. May we continue to acknowledge that which should appropriately be drawn toward God so that HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS and OUR FAITHFULNESS find their embrace together.
