High Octane Fuel!

I can remember the days when we would drive into a gas station, have the station attendant run out to the car and we would tell him, “Fill it up with regular”. Today (here in the State of Washington, USA) we usually pump our own gas, though the neighboring state of Oregon only allows station attendants to do this. Some people have vehicles that seem to run better on a higher octane gasoline, so rather than filling up on regular, they choose “Premium” or “Supreme”.

When we think about our own life, have we given due consideration to the “SPIRITUAL OCTANE” on which we are trying to run? If we have merely settled for “regular” it should be no surprise when our life is not running well. As lower grade fuels may not sufficiently clean fuel injectors or aid the engine in working efficiently, the same can be true about our life. It is SUPREME we ought to be filled with and though it does start with “G”, I don’t mean “gas”.

In Paul’s letter to the church at Ephesus, a part of his prayer for them was. . .
“(19) and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, THAT YOU MAY BE FILLED WITH ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD.” ( Ephesians 3:19 ESV)

Unless our life is being filled with the “FULLNESS OF GOD” -- acknowledging Him as SUPREME over our life -- our efficiency is going to be hampered. Paul went on to point out that it is God Who has the ability “to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think” by His power working in us. ( Ephesians 3:20) We cannot expect the world’s “regular” to sustain us and keep us moving. According to the “specs” with which God designed us as spiritual beings, we need to be FILLED WITH HIM and all that relates to His Sovereign Will. Thus our life will be sufficiently powered to serve God’s Divine purposes and keep us moving steadily on through life to ultimately be transported to where He wants us.

Have a great day TAKING IN MORE OF THE SUPREME!
