Family Reflection!

Sometimes members of a family are referred to as “black sheep” in that they don’t necessarily conform to the likeness of the rest of the family with regard to life choices. It is possible for a member of a family to bring either pride or embarrassment to the rest of the family through the manner in which they live. Someone has stated, “Heredity is what makes the father and mother of teenagers wonder a little about each other.” [source: “1600 Squibs And Quips”, compiled by E. C. McKenzie] When it is said that the nut doesn’t fall too far from the tree, what does our life reflect as having been handed down to the next generation? Though we should be mindful of this within our earthly families, should it not be considered even more so with regard to OUR LIFE in the FAMILY OF GOD?

Writing to Timothy at Ephesus, Paul exhorted. . .
“(14) I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, (15) if I delay, you may KNOW HOW ONE OUGHT TO BEHAVE IN THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD, which is the church of the living God, a pillar and buttress of the truth.” ( 1 Timothy 3:14-15 ESV)

What does OUR LIFE SAY about OUR HEAVENLY FATHER? What kind of family reflection are we exhibiting? Since the church is “a pillar and buttress [support] of the truth”, we ought to be serious about OUR LIFE reflecting that essence of OUR HEAVENLY FATHER. Peter urged those to whom he wrote to conduct their lives in such a manner that ultimately their good deeds would be seen and GOD WOULD BE GLORIFIED! ( 1 Peter 2:12) May we sincerely consider the relationship we have with THE FATHER and what OUR LIFE says about Him and what He has handed down to us.

Have a great day REFLECTING A GODLY FAMILY RESEMBLANCE!
