Blessed At Both Ends!
In one of David’s psalms, as he noted some awesome aspects of God’s creation -- as well as the salvation He provides -- the psalmist also made the statement. . .
“so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs. YOU MAKE THE GOING OUT OF THE MORNING AND THE EVENING TO SHOUT FOR JOY.” ( Psalm 65:8 ESV)
Associated with both ends of the day is the rejoicing of both the RISING OF THE SUN and THE SETTING of it. The transitions of MORNING and EVENING God set into motion and that have continued from the time of His creation are blessings He has provided. It is worth our rejoicing also, because the new day is a sign from God that time goes on for now and we have opportunities to enjoy the life He has given and to fulfill His purposes in it. The setting of the sun is God’s reminder for the work to cease so the body and mind can have their needed rest. Both are gracious gifts of God for which even the wicked should learn to be thankful. (note Matthew 5:45)
Which do we welcome most? Does it not depend on the portion of the day? In the MORNING we welcome the opportunity for activity, but when NIGHT comes -- after a day full of activities -- we welcome the opportunity for the rest the night brings. In this sense we might agree that both are equally glorious blessings from the God Who knows exactly what we need.
I am nearing the end of a couple of weeks that have provided some long days for me because of a meeting we have this weekend and the door knocking and other preparations for it. However, in the midst of all the extra things added to my schedule, God has provided the focus and the time needed for me to get everything done that I normally do, including these daily focuses. Therefore, EACH DAY I have eagerly looked forward to the activities that would go with it and EACH EVENING I have looked forward to the rest the night brings. I am richly blessed.
God is so good. He knows what we need. I hope you also are able to rejoice with the DAWN and the DUSK, welcoming the daily transitions God brings for our benefit.
Have a great day APPRECIATING THE WISDOM OF GOD’S DAILY TRANSITIONS!
Carl
