What Time Is It?
Two frequently asked questions: “What time is it?” “What day is it?”
Do you ever lose track of time? Have you ever forgotten what day it was? Sometimes that may not really matter -- for example if you get up Saturday morning and begin dressing for school and then realize you could have slept in. However, at other times it can be a very bad mistake. To lose track of time and miss your curfew could put you in big trouble, perhaps ending up being grounded for a while. To forget what time it is and end up late for school could cause you to end up spending time in detention. If you forgot a special friend’s birthday you might feel bad as they wondered how you could have forgotten them. If you forgot it was the day for that big history test and hadn’t studied, you know the fear you would have of bombing on that one. And the list could go on.
In writing to the church at Corinth, Paul mentioned an IMPORTANT TIME AND DAY that merits serious consideration for all of us. We read. . .
“(1) Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. (2) For he says, ‘In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, NOW IS THE FAVORABLE TIME; behold, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION.” ( 2 Corinthians 6:1-2 ESV)
Don’t put off to tomorrow what you know should be focused on TODAY. God has given us opportunity TODAY to respond to the salvation He has made possible. The TIME is NOW to either make or renew the decision to follow Jesus daily. You may live 20, 30, 50, 80, or more years -- but that is not a guarantee. You can only be sure of the day and time you have RIGHT NOW! How are you focusing on it? Blessings of tomorrow and eternity are hinged on decisions you are making today. God has been so loving and gracious to provide the time to acknowledge and accept the salvation He has made possible. Thank God for the opportunity TODAY provides!
Have a great day MAKING DAILY CHOICES WITH ETERNITY IN VIEW!
