Today's Puddles!
It rains and rains . . . the ground softens and turns to mud . . . puddles appear everywhere . . . some puddles turn into lakes . . . some trickles turn into streams . . . and then the rain stops . . . the clouds part . . . the sun shines . . . and the puddles evaporate. Has this not been what we have witnessed? Is it not what is expected? Do we not acknowledge the rains and storms will pass? Is it not the same regarding life?
Someone has said, “Most of today’s worries are like puddles . . . tomorrow they will have evaporated.” How many times has that also been our experience? During the stormy times of life should we not retain the expectation that they will pass and brighter times will come?
It is true that heavy rains and storms sometimes do some damage and we may have to deal with some damage in our life, but even the puddles of anxiety formed through the trials, will EVAPORATE. There are times when life’s “rain” catches our attention, but then the results of it VAPORIZE without us even having to deal with it. As the sun is always shining above the dark clouds, so the “SON” still shines above. Knowing this ought to help our anxiousness DISSIPATE. Let us TRUST HIM to clear the clouds and shine on us with the light of His love.
May I encourage you with the words (words that have been referred to as a priestly blessing) God instructed Moses to have Aaron and his sons say to the nation of Israel. We read. . .
“(24) The LORD bless you and keep you; (25) the LORD MAKE HIS FACE TO SHINE UPON YOU and be gracious to you; (26) the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.” ( Numbers 6:24-26 ESV)
Have a peaceful day IN THE “SONSHINE” OF GOD’S LOVE!
Carl
