Wheel Or Spare?

How many wheels does a car have? Perhaps someone might say four in reference to those on which the vehicle rolls while another might remember the spare and so declare there are five. However, let us also remember the steering wheel used for maneuvering and changing the direction of the vehicle. It would therefore be correct to say a car has six wheels.

It has been said that “our religion should be a steering wheel, not a spare tire.”

Is belief in God merely something we fall back on, or is it what truly directs our life? How many only think about God and His way when their life goes flat and they need a fix? Could the very reason they keep getting flats be due to continuing to go down the wrong roads? If we truly believe in God we should TRUST HIS DIRECTION, allowing it TO STEER OUR LIFE on a proper course. To know Him is to accept His Word and Will for our life.

John wrote:
“(4) Whoever says ‘I KNOW HIM’ but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, (5) but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: (6) whoever says he abides in him OUGHT TO WALK IN THE SAME WAY IN WHICH HE WALKED.” ( 1 John 2:4-6 ESV)

May we continually seek for our life to follow the manner in which our Lord walked upon earth. As the Sovereign Will of the Father set the course of that walk, may we allow it to do the same for us. With the Will of God steering our life we can be assured of safely arriving at our heavenly destination.

Have a great day WITH GOD’S WILL BEHIND THE WHEEL OF OUR LIFE!
Carl
