Life's Education!
The noted statesman Sir Winston Churchill (who lived from 1874-1965 and served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951-1955) is quoted as saying, “Personally I am always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught.” Can we relate? Not all of life’s lessons are easy. However, should we not be EAGERLY READY when we have the opportunity to learn something and rejoice when we recognize we have? Though some needed lessons may hurt at first -- and we might even wish we had just known them without having to have been taught -- the thing for which to be thankful is the fact we can move ahead from where we are, being wiser for them.
Solomon stated…
“THE FEAR OF THE LORD IS THE BEGINNING OF KNOWLEDGE; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” ( Proverbs 1:7 ESV)
Rightfully acknowledging God and the authority of His Will is where knowledge begins, because then we know with what to make our comparisons. It is foolish both to not want to learn or to think there isn’t more that can be learned. Therefore, let us strive to always be EAGERLY READY to accept what will make us wiser for living God glorifying and productive lives.
Have a great day APPRECIATING LIFE’S CONTINUING SCHOOL!
