Life Source!

In the 1600’s an English physician by the name of William Harvey is noted for having discovered the circulation of blood in the body. His work on the circulatory system was formally published in 1628. Prior to that time little was known about the value of blood, with one prevailing notion being that blood was the source of disease rather than life’s defense against it. That is why bleeding (called “bloodletting”) was done in an effort to rid sick individuals of disease. It has been suggested that such action was what quickened the death of George Washington.

What is it that God has declared regarding blood? Several thousand years before William Harvey, God declared to Noah that the LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD. ( Genesis 9:4-5) This was also stated in the law given to Moses. ( Leviticus 17:10-14) Along with this reference, atonement was also associated with that LIFE BLOOD.

Life! That is what we have because of the ATONING BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. If the association of the BLOOD OF CHRIST is ignored, then Jesus said, “you have no life in you.” ( John 6:53) Drawn into that association Jesus went on to say there is eternal life and such a one would be raised up on the last day. ( John 6:54) It is THE BLOOD OF OUR LORD that has the power to deal with mankind’s greatest disease -- sin -- and bring about life to its fullest!

John encouraged…
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and THE BLOOD OF JESUS HIS SON CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN.” ( 1 John 1:7 ESV)

BLOOD! LIFE BLOOD! Without it we would have no life and no hope! CHRIST’S BLOOD possesses the power to deal adequately -- once and for all ( Hebrews 10:10 and 14) -- with our sins and provide the means of life everlasting! Praise the Lord for the LIFE BLOOD that flowed for us and continues to work on our behalf even today!
