Piercing The Perils Of Darkness!

Darkness presents many difficulties.

In the darkness it is easy to imagine things which are not there, causing fears to arise that are often unfounded.

In the darkness there is the danger of stumbling and falling. Serious injury is possible. Even a stubbed toe is bad enough.

In the darkness it is easy to lose one’s sense of direction. It is even possible to end up wandering around and around in circles without realizing it and thus get no where.

Just as there are difficulties relating to physical darkness, so also there is extreme danger in spiritual darkness. That is why we ought to praise God for His provision of the LIGHT OF JESUS and strive to remain in that light.

Note these encouraging words of Jesus.
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. WHOEVER FOLLOWS ME WILL NOT WALK IN DARKNESS, BUT WILL HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE.’” ( John 8:12 ESV)

In the LIGHT OF JESUS we have many fears eliminated because of His promises in relation to both this life and eternity. Also, by following in His teachings we will avoid many of the pitfalls with which the rest of the world struggles. And we know that following Jesus leads to eternity in Heaven. Thanks to God’s provision of the LIGHT OF JESUS we do not have to be plagued by aimless wandering in life. In Him we find our truest meaning and direction.
