Fulfilling!

There are many endeavors in which we can involve ourselves that may be very fulfilling. When we are involved in activities that bring benefit to the lives of others, it can give us a deep sense of satisfaction. Finding our purpose helps make life worth living.

As Paul was drawing his letter to the church at Colossae to a close, he extended greetings from those who were with him and asked for his own greeting to be shared with the brethren in that region. He also mentioned some specific individuals, as well as an exhortation to an individual by the name of Archippus.

We read…
“And say to Archippus, ‘See that you FULFILL THE MINISTRY THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IN THE LORD.’” ( Colossians 4:17 ESV)

Should we not find the greatest sense of fulfillment in knowing we are fulfilling the MINISTRY or SERVICE that is to accompany our life in the Lord? MINISTRY can be characterized in many ways and take place on various levels. (note Romans 12:4-8) There are many facets of my own personal MINISTRY, “teEn-MAIL” being just one of them. What do you see as your MINISTRY? Have you identified it? In what ways are you fulfilling it in your daily life?

In my office there is a portion of Scripture I have posted on the wall where I am able to see it frequently. It reads…

“CURSED IS HE WHO DOES THE WORK OF THE LORD WITH SLACKNESS,….” ( Jeremiah 48:10a ESV)

May we be continually mindful of the opportunities the Lord places before us to impact others in His Name and for His glory. We each have varying abilities and together much can be accomplished when we remain open to allowing the Lord to use us. May we experience a fulfilling life through accepting and fulfilling the MINISTRY we have received in the Lord.
