What Keeps Us There?

Through a lifetime there are many occasions when we will find ourselves in trouble. This can happen very quickly. We may even have difficulty figuring out how we got there. However, the real issue may be: what keeps us there?

Someone has said, “Our temper often gets us into trouble and our pride keeps us there.”

Doesn’t it sometimes seem easier to make mistakes than to admit them? Making mistakes is a humbling experience. I think that is why God allows us to make them. We need to be reminded we are not perfect. This is then to remind us to be gentler with others as they make their own mistakes. It is not that the mistakes are condoned, but rather that opportunity is given to move from them.

Peter exhorted…
“Finally, all of you, HAVE UNITY OF MIND, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, AND A HUMBLE MIND.” ( 1 Peter 3:8 ESV)

The New American Standard Bible reads, “all of you BE HARMONIOUS” and “HUMBLE IN SPIRIT”.

To remember that everyone is an imperfect being should make it easier to swallow our pride and make peace in relationships.

Have a great day HUMBLY MOVING ON!
Carl
