Life Success!

Getting ahead. That is the quest of most people in this world. Trying to succeed in business or some other area of life that they believe will help get them the farthest. But how far does it take them? Is all the success experienced really success?

Sometimes we might look at those living without any acknowledgement of God and wonder why their life is marked by some successes we wish we had as well. (i.e. Psalm 73:3-14) Perhaps this perception is only because we have forgotten the bigger picture. (i.e. Psalm 73:15-28) Some have drawn the conclusion that the only way to make it in this life is to do so according to the world’s rules, even if that means cheating, deception, and stepping on whomever one has to in order to climb higher. Have we felt compelled to accept such thinking?

Someone has said, “An upright man can never be a downright failure.” [source: “1600 Squibs And Quips”, compiled by E. C. McKenzie]

In the end it is the living of an UPRIGHT LIFE that counts the most. One may get ahead in this realm only to have nothing for the next. In that case the life is a complete failure. On the other hand one could suffer many losses here and still be a success in the eyes of God for having endured and remained faithful.

Note the following three passages from Psalms.
“(10) My shield is with GOD, who SAVES THE UPRIGHT IN HEART.” ( Psalm 7:10 ESV)

“(4) LIGHT DAWNS IN THE DARKNESS FOR THE UPRIGHT; he is gracious, merciful, and righteous. (5) It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice. (6) For the righteous will never be moved; he will BE REMEMBERED FOREVER.” ( Psalm 112:4-6 ESV)

“(17) Surely the righteous shall give thanks to your name; THE UPRIGHT SHALL DWELL IN YOUR PRESENCE.” ( Psalm 140:17 ESV)

Salvation! Vision amidst the darkness. Lasting remembrance for considering others. The promise of being in God’s presence. Those are marks of the successful life lived by the UPRIGHT of heart. May we always recognize the true gain of godliness with contentment ( 1 Timothy 6:6) as we live faithful to the standard God has given for living a successful God glorifying life that brings benefit far beyond this realm.

Have a great day FINDING UPRIGHT SUCCESS!
