Broad Application!

Some information sources are very limited or narrowed in their focus while others have a very broad application. We may be aware of the laws of physics and chemistry, but unless we are employed in a field of science we may not need to give them much thought as we go about our daily life. However, at least some kind of mathematics is most likely used on a regular basis for simple counting, measuring, cooking, balancing the checkbook or paying bills, etc.

In Psalm 119 we read.
"I have seen a limit to all perfection, BUT YOUR COMMANDMENT IS EXCEEDINGLY BROAD." ( Psalm 119:96 ESV)

Though we may recognize the limits of other things, when it comes to the application of God's commands, statutes, and principles -- they have the ability to relate to EVERY ASPECT OF OUR LIFE! It should be no surprise that the Creator of life would be able to provide a "manual" to adequately address life's many facets. God's Word is practical. It works. When properly applied to our daily life it makes sense. Besides coming to know God and how to please Him, the Scriptures teach us about interpersonal relationships, the sound principles of good communication, consideration of others, developing a good work ethic, and the list goes on. As we wonder about the things of life the Bible is most often the best place to begin.

Later on in this same psalm we read.
"THE SUM OF YOUR WORD IS TRUTH, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever." ( Psalm 119:160 ESV)

God's Word has and will stand the test of time. Amidst all the advice the world offers, let us recognize how ALL OF GOD'S WORD ADDS UP! It is applicable and practical for EVERY DAY use! Of all the things we use every day, may we be certain to make the Scriptures one of them!
