The Paved Path!

Sometimes people enjoy getting off the beaten path. There are those who love leaving the pavement with their off-road vehicles. However, such places can present some challenges for the traveler. When making a journey it is often best to remain on the main highways because there the pavement is generally more favorable for safe travel. Even the walker is at times provided a paved path on which to walk, reducing the possibility of tripping over obstacles or being sent tumbling due to uneven ground.

The statement has been made that “The road to hell has been paved with good intentions.” Intentions or the desire within is where good things may begin, but there needs to be some follow through and faithfulness to what is planned. With what is the path of our life paved, who paved it, and to where does it lead?

Of the way provided by God, David noted…
“(8) Good and upright is the LORD; therefore he instructs sinners in THE WAY. (9) He leads the humble in what is right, and teaches the humble HIS WAY. (10) All the PATHS OF THE LORD ARE STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.” ( Psalm 25:8-10 ESV)

The STEADFAST LOVE and FAITHFULNESS of God. Now, there is some good paving! What smoother way could be provided for life’s journey than the LOVE and FAITHFULNESS of God? What better path could be chosen to guard against “blowouts” or getting stuck in the mire and mud of the worldly paths? The path provided by God is surely the “high”-way that should always be traveled throughout life’s journey. May we trust God’s STEADFAST LOVE and FAITHFULNESS to provide the foundation on which to travel on toward the eternity He has prepared for those who are His.
