Going His Way!
A reality of life in this realm is that things do not always go our way. In fact, that life experience has the potential to make us rather pessimistic toward life. Someone has said, “An optimist is someone who tells you to cheer up when things are going his way.” [source: calendar quote] When I read that quote I thought: Who is more OPTIMISTIC than God? If He were a pessimist would He not have given up on humanity a long time ago? Sure, He knows what is within the heart of every individual and all that the future holds. Still, though our vision is limited in this regard there is that which we can know that can make a difference in our outward look on life.
Granted, it is easy to be OPTIMISTIC when things are going our way. However, when things are not working out as we had hoped, let us not forget the bigger picture associated with God.
Paul encouraged…
“(31) What then shall we say to these things? IF GOD IS FOR US, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US? (32) He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” ( Romans 8:31-32 ESV)
“God is for us!” It is His presence and power and wisdom that makes all the difference in our life. Every command God has given and every blessing He has provided has been with our best in mind. Even the fact God allows us to go through some challenges in life provides the growth of a trusting faith we could not develop otherwise.
God’s love has been extended and revealed in many ways with an OPTIMISM toward our responding appropriately to it. Be of good cheer. Ultimately things will go His way. May it be His way that we strive to remain within as we respond to the great abiding love He has revealed.
Have a great day JOYFUL IN LIGHT OF GOD’S PREVAILING WILL!
