Equipped!

EQUIPPED!

When you have a job to do, in order to get it done correctly you need to have the proper equipment. Have your ever used the handle of a screwdriver or even pliers as a hammer? It may work for a small job, but even then a hammer is better. I know there have been times when I have substituted a tool simply because I didn’t want to take the extra time or make the effort to go get the right one. On some of those occasions I have found myself spending more time trying to do the job with the improper equipment than it would have taken me to have gone and gotten the right tool. Being properly equipped may take some effort, some extra time, and even some planning, but it’s the best way to get a work done right!

God has made it possible for us to be equipped for HIS WORK. And there is some effort, time, and planning connected to this equipping. Paul wrote…

“(16) All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (17) that the man of God may be COMPETENT, EQUIPPED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK.” ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)

God has given us HIS WORD for the purpose of equipping us for HIS WORK. Some people have turned to business techniques, positive mental attitude methods, social norms (society’s rules), etc. for equipping themselves for GOD’S WORKS instead of starting with GOD’S INSTRUCTION. For us to best be equipped for the works God gives us to do we must spend time in HIS WORD. We must put forth the effort to learn what He has revealed and then plan how we will put that into practice. Therefore, as you read your Bible, open your heart to GOD’S WORD so that it may teach, reprove, correct, and train you in righteousness (things that are right); then you will be allowing Him to equip you for every good work!

Have a great day BECOMING EQUIPPED FOR GOD’S GLORIOUS WORK!
