ANSWERING THE CALL! (part 4c)

Read these passages! Look up other passages of Scripture! Spend some time meditating on them! Be encouraged by them! Thank God for that to which and into which He has called you!

TO A NEW WAY OF LIVING!

“To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, CALLED TO BE SAINTS [HOLY or HOLY ONES] together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:” ( 1 Corinthians 1:2 ESV)

“For God has not CALLED US for impurity, but IN HOLINESS.” ( I Thessalonians 4:7 ESV)

“But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has CALLED YOU TO PEACE.” ( 1 Corinthians 7:15 ESV)

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT.” ( 1 Peter 2:9 ESV)

“(20) For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. (21) For TO THIS YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, SO THAT YOU MIGHT FOLLOW IN HIS STEPS.” ( 1 Peter 2:20-21 ESV)

“(8) Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. (9) Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for TO THIS YOU WERE CALLED, that you may obtain a blessing.” ( 1 Peter 3:8-9 ESV)

We have been called to be different than the world since we have been “called out of darkness into His wonderful light.” We have a higher calling than the calling of this world. Is the difference being seen? Are we living up to the calling? We are if we are following in the steps of Jesus!

Since we have been called to this manner of living, may we heed Paul’s urging:
“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to WALK IN A MANNER WORTHY OF THE CALLING TO WHICH YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED,” ( Ephesians 4:1 ESV)
