Comfort!

When we read the assurances and promises of God we gain encouragement and hope to press on even in the face of trials. Though we may at times experience the discomfort of opposition to the truth we can still find peace in knowing we are right with God. That COMFORT helps us to hang in there through the challenges as we settle into the COMFORT of a trusting relationship with Him. Even when we come face to face with signs of the limitations of the flesh and our mortality we can rejoice in the consolation that this life is not all there is to our existence. To receive such COMFORT is a personal blessing we ought to greatly appreciate. However, the COMFORT we receive from God is not merely for the purpose of making us comfortable, but is also to inspire us in reaching out to others.

Paul stated…
“(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, (4) WHO COMFORTS US in all our affliction, SO THAT WE MAY BE ABLE TO COMFORT THOSE WHO ARE IN ANY AFFLICTION, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” ( 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 ESV)

Having experienced the COMFORT of God and knowing what it means to us should compel us to help others experience it as well. And it is the COMFORT of God that we ultimately need to turn others toward, because it is in His hands ( John 10:27-29) that we can continue to feel secure.

Have a great day BEING A COMFORTED COMFORTER!
