What We Make Of It!

We hear talk of ways to “sssstrrrreeeech” [stretch] dollars because of limited incomes. However, have we ever seen someone try to stretch a dollar bill? Such an attempt might merely result in ripping off a corner or tearing the dollar bill in half. To pull at a US dollar bill could possibly get a few wrinkles out of Washington’s face, but the paper is not going to stretch and neither will its value. A dollar is a dollar and will only buy what a dollar will buy. Therefore the thing that must be done is to USE IT WISELY.

The same is true with time. An hour is an hour and a minute is a minute. Time cannot be stashed away and saved somewhere nor stretched to provide more. We simply must USE IT WISELY as each moment presents itself.

Paul exhorted those at Ephesus to…
“(15) Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but AS WISE, (16) MAKING THE BEST USE OF THE TIME, because the days are evil.” ( Ephesians 5:15-16 ESV)

And in his letter to the church at Colossae he urged…
“(5) Conduct yourselves WISELY toward outsiders, MAKING THE BEST USE OF THE TIME. (6) Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” ( Colossians 4:5-6 ESV)

Time comes and it is up to us whether or not we put it to use and how. It is in our hands to be put to WISE USE and make something of it. Perhaps we might even equate time to a diamond in the rough that we can take and use in a way that truly shines to the glory of God. Considering our need to continually walk wisely and to be wise in how we are with others provides the opportunity for the light of Jesus to shine in and through us. May we recognize that as the Divine purpose for the time God gives us each day. That is time being put to the best and WISEST USE!

Have a great day MAKING TIMELY USE OF THE MOMENTS GOD BRINGS!
