"Someday, When?"
Someday, when I have more money. When I am older. When I have developed more skill. When I have gotten more other stuff behind me. When I…. Have we made such statements or at least thought them? The problem with this focus is that it is very possible such a time will never come. It is the TODAY we need to acknowledge; considering what are we doing with it and what is PRESENTLY OURS to be used. The thing that will most likely determine what we will do when those “somedays” come is what we are doing where we are and with what we have RIGHT NOW!
Jesus stated…
“(10) One who is faithful IN A VERY LITTLE is ALSO faithful IN MUCH, and one who is dishonest IN A VERY LITTLE is ALSO dishonest IN MUCH. (11) If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?” ( Luke 16:10-11 ESV)
Why should we expect to be entrusted with more abilities and opportunities if we are not using what we have PRESENTLY? By focusing faithfully on what we can do RIGHT NOW we can turn TODAY into quite “some day” by simply utilizing our present abilities and time in service to the glory of God. We may wonder about the significance of some of what we are PRESENTLY doing, but when we learn to believe that there is NOTHING TOO SMALL (i.e. Matthew 10:42) for us TO DO WELL we will be preparing ourselves for doing even bigger things in the grand scheme of life and eternity. May we recognize how everyday’s actions help prepare us for things to come.
Have a great day RECOGNIZING THE BIG DEAL WITH LITTLE THINGS!
