Investment Portfolio!
The stock market goes up and down. Interest rates fluctuate. Though track records are considered and strategy is used when deciding how and where to invest, there is still some guesswork regarding projections and an element of risk involved. The investments of life are not always a SURE THING! Even what is stashed away is subject to loss of value or theft. Some investors lose some here and gain some there and it balances out alright. Others have lost their life savings though they felt secure in where they had invested. Looking at stock options and diversifying is recommended to help balance out the gains and losses, as well as investing for the long term. However, GUARANTEES are hard to come by.
Jesus exhorted…
“(32) Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (33) Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with MONEYBAGS THAT DO NOT GROW OLD, WITH A TREASURE IN THE HEAVENS THAT DOES NOT FAIL, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. (34) For WHERE YOUR TREASURE IS, THERE WILL YOUR HEART BE ALSO.” ( Luke 12:32-34 ESV)
Does this reflect our stock in life? Do we recognize the life investment that WILL NOT FAIL? With Heaven in mind we are to invest for the long term (eternity), recognizing the dividends on such stock are truly out of this world! What is associated with God ONLY RISES! It CANNOT FAIL! It does NOT LOSE VALUE! However, is it creating enough “interest” in us personally that we are eager to invest our lives in the Will of God?
If God and His righteousness ( Matthew 6:33) are left out of our portfolio, we are the poorest of the poor. For life to be lived this way we stand to lose everything! (consider Luke 12:20-21; Luke 19:26) Only with God can we be GUARANTEED a secure future and blessed retirement! May our “interest” in the things of God continually rate high.
Have a great day SAFELY PUTTING ALL STOCK IN GOD!
Carl
