Rise And Shine!

Yesterday morning I headed out on my walk before the sun came up. As my walk continued I had the privilege of watching a sight I never tire of; a beautiful sunrise. To me, a rising sun is a brilliant expression of God declaring He has graciously granted another day.

A rising sun. A NEW day. NEW opportunities. NEW expectations. NEW encounters with others. All of that can be glorious and ought to be approached in thanksgiving to God because each NEW day is His gracious gift. As we unwrap this gift and put it to use we reveal the appreciation we have for having received it.

The risen Son! NEW life. NEW opportunities. NEW expectations. NEW encounters. RENEWED hope. Because of Jesus, a glorious life for now and eternity has been opened up to us.

Peter declared…
“(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to A LIVING HOPE THROUGH THE RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST FROM THE DEAD, (4) to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, (5) who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” ( 1 Peter 1:3-5 ESV)

What a marvelous hope we have because Jesus was raised from the dead. Death was not the end of the plan of God as Jesus went to the cross. Because He rose and still lives (note John 14:19b) we have a “living hope” to encourage us on.

Writing to the church at Rome Paul noted…
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, JUST AS CHRIST WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD by the glory of the Father, WE TOO MIGHT WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE.” ( Romans 6:4 ESV)

How we live our life will reveal how much we appreciate what Christ has made possible for us. Having been united with Him in baptism is the NEWNESS of life becoming more and more evident? May the light of the risen Son be reflected in our life as we live for His glory and praise.

Have a great day RISING TO LIVE TO HIS GLORY!
