Reputation And Character!
Reputation can precede us, whether that be good or bad. However, when we have connected and interacted with others it is character that usually becomes evident. The church at Sardis had a reputation of being alive, however, the reality of their character was that they were dead! ( Revelation 3:1) The problem was their works were not found to be complete. ( Revelation 3:2)
Though reputation may precede us, what is the true essence that TRAILS BEHIND US? What is left IN THE WAKE OF OUR LIFE as we are passing through?
Later in Revelation John recorded…
“And I heard a voice from heaven saying, ‘Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Blessed indeed,’ says the Spirit, ‘that they may rest from their labors, FOR THEIR DEEDS FOLLOW THEM!’” ( Revelation 14:13 ESV)
May we continually strive to possess genuine godly character that produces good works. These works are not to be held ahead of us as a title, but TRAIL BEHIND us as a testimony to our character and conduct. A time of rest is coming, but now is the time for pressing on, LEAVING A TRAIL of godly works behind us. May the evidence of our living for the Lord become clear to those with whose lives we come into contact.
Have a great day LEAVING A GODLY IMPRESSION WITH OTHERS!
