Imagining!

Some people have very vivid imaginations. From their distinct mental images come masterful works of art that can seem so real we can almost feel drawn right into the picture. These imaginative minds also produce novels that can draw the reader into feeling they are right there in the midst of the story. The imaginations of people have brought forth inventions that have simplified and made better some aspects of life. Then there are some who have very strange and even morbid imaginations.

When it comes to imagining, some of those images may never materialize and others may be even more impressive than what was imagined. To spend a little time dreaming and imagining can help encourage us to press on because of the possibilities that could materialize. We also may be reminded in the process that there are still many unknowns relating to life. How vivid of an imagination do we possess? What sort of things do we frequently find ourselves picturing in our mind that encourage us that life is worth living?

Note what Paul stated in his letter to the church at Ephesus.
“(20) Now to him who is ABLE TO DO FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY THAN ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK, according to the power at work within us, (21) to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” ( Ephesians 3:20-21 ESV)

The word translated “think” comes from a Greek word “noeo” which means to perceive with the mind (Gk. “nous”), to think about, or ponder. [source: Vine’s Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words] It is translated in the New International Version as “imagine”. Though we may try to imagine, Paul stated that our God is able to do FAR MORE ABUNDANTLY THAN ALL we might think. Our imagination is no match for the VAST MIND OF GOD and all that He might have in mind for us now and for eternity. Paul also stated the power behind that ability of God is “at work within us.” How’s that for a thought to motivate us for pressing on in our relationship to Him? We can only imagine how much we will someday be amazed!

Have a great day KNOWING WITH GOD ARE ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!
