Today's The Day!

Yesterday is passed and who knows about tomorrow? TODAY is a day not to be neglected. We have it for a purpose. Yet we make the choices regarding how it will be used. There are some things of TODAY we might have another opportunity for, but we may not know that for sure. There are also things that hold varying degrees of significance. I may neglect my lawn today, but the consequences of that are not great. However, there are other things of greater significance if neglected TODAY.

Paul wrote:
“For he says, ‘In a favorable time I listened to you, and in A DAY of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, NOW IS THE FAVORABLE TIME; behold, NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION.” ( 2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV)

Certainly things in relation to our eternal salvation should never be put off. TODAY we have the opportunity to respond to God. It is a gamble to count on that opportunity tomorrow.

The Hebrew writer warned:
“(12) Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. (13) But exhort one another every day, AS LONG AS IT IS CALLED ‘TODAY,’ that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. (14) For we share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. (15) As it is said, ‘TODAY, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.’” ( Hebrews 3:12-15 ESV)

It is important what we do TODAY with what we know from God’s word. It is dangerous to decide to put it into practice at some later date. We might not have that opportunity. Let us maintain a proper focus on TODAY.

Have a great TODAY TAKING CARE OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS!
Carl
