To Whom Are We Listening? (part 10 of 16)
Mistakes! Goof ups! The same thing again! Blunders! Sin! We all alike have the struggle with these in this life. Some of those blunders weigh on us heavier than others. Even though forgiveness is extended, sometimes we still say, “I can’t forgive myself.” That is just where the devil wants us. If we can’t forgive ourselves we will continue to develop deep feelings of unworthiness and buy the lie that God could never love us. Then we may begin to think there is no use in asking for forgiveness.
God wants to assure us of the continual blessing He provides through the power of the blood of Jesus Christ.
God’s message through the Apostle John was...
“If we confess our sins, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” ( 1 John 1:9 ESV)
And God’s encouraging message through the Apostle Paul was...
“(1) There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION for those who are in Christ Jesus. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.” ( Romans 8:1-2 ESV)
Yes, we must acknowledge sin as sin. Sin is serious stuff with which we must deal according to God’s will. What a great blessing we have in our relationship to God through Christ. What encouragement to know God is faithful. HE WILL FORGIVE. We will not be condemned, because in Christ we have been removed from under God’s condemnation.
Wow! No condemnation for those who are in Christ. Forgiven. No longer having the sin held against us. God wants us to keep listening to that because He desires to bring us peace. As He forgives, let us also forgive.
Have a great day ACCEPTING THE PEACE OF GOD’S FORGIVENESS!
