To Whom Are We Listening? (part 3 of 16)

Oh, we get so busy. There is so much to do. There is so much we find ourselves having to put up with as well. Can we keep going? Do we find ourselves saying “I’m too tired to keep pressing on. I’m too tired to keep trying.”?

Note what God wants us to hear in the invitation our Lord offered.
“(28) ‘Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I WILL GIVE YOU REST. (29) Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. (30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.’” ( Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)

Our God knows what wears on us and wears us down. Our Lord knows what it means to become weary. However, He wants us to come to Him and He has promised to provide us THE REST WE NEED; REST from anxiety as we trust in Him, REST from weary deeds as we focus on service done to His glory, and REST from concern regarding the future because we know the glorious ETERNAL REST that awaits us. May we experience that REST as we REST our trust in Him.

Have a great day ACCEPTING THE INVITATION TO HIS REST!
Carl
