Will Be There!

There are some things that cannot be avoided regardless of how much we might try. There are events associated with our life that are not of our own planning. Even though we may not know the when and where, there are inescapable events for which we will be present. Woody Allen is quoted as saying, “I’m not afraid to die. I just don’t want to be there when it happens.” Again, regardless of our desire, there are some events we won’t miss.

Our birth was not the result of our planning, but the planning of others. That event took place and though we had a limited awareness, we were there. When the time for our departure from this realm comes, we may not know the time and place, but the event is unavoidable and we will be present. This being the reality, what we need to do is make sure that when we lie in death we ARE READY for what lies beyond death.

Paul exhorted…
“(10) Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For WE WILL ALL stand before the judgment seat of God; (11) for it is written, ‘As I live, says the Lord, EVERY KNEE shall bow to me, and EVERY TONGUE shall confess to God.’ (12) So then EACH OF US will give an account of himself to God.” ( Romans 14:10-12 ESV)

“All”. “Every”. “Each.” These words point to the inescapable fact of being there! Therefore we ought to be mindful of the kind of people we are, striving to live godly and holy lives so that we can live in eager anticipation of that which is to come. ( 2 Peter 3:11-12)

How we die, where we die and when we die is not as important as how READY we are for the event to take place. The B-I-B-L-E has been referred to as “Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.” Praise God He has preserved His Word so that we can know what is necessary to be prepared. Now is the time for planning so that when we are there we will be found to BE READY to enter into that which God has prepared for His redeemed.

Have a great day LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT WHICH WON’T BE MISSED!
