When Wearied!
In life we get frustrated with the way some things go. There are times we may even be brought to tears in the struggles of life. In the midst of the pressures of living in this imperfect realm we can wear ourselves out as we try to remain firm in our standing in and for the truth of God. The thing that sometimes causes our perspective in life to look so dismal is that we get tired. Our bodies and our minds NEED REST. There is the need to withdraw in order TO REST and REFOCUS. Having taken on flesh ( Romans 8:3 and Philippians 2:7), our own Lord acknowledged that need for Himself and His disciples. (i.e. Luke 5:16 and Mark 6:30-31)
David made the following encouraging statement.
“(4) Sing praises to the Lord, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. (5) For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, BUT JOY COMES WITH THE MORNING.” ( Psalm 30:4-5 ESV)
Haven’t we all experienced having something we were dealing with that didn’t seem quite so ominous after a good night’s sleep? When being wearied about things of life, sometimes what we need to do is lay it out before God and then try to GET SOME REST. It may all appear differently in “the morning.” Having RESTED, our reasoning powers become sharper and our physical and emotional states are renewed. Refreshed from the night’s REST, the challenges often then begin to appear smaller and more manageable. Also, when we refocus on the present situations, measuring the challenges in comparison with God’s ability and power, we can find reason to once again rejoice.
God has given us life in daily doses for a reason. It is the increments in which life can be adequately handled. (i.e. Matthew 6:34) With the dawning of a new day is the rising of new hope and new opportunities. May we accept the night time for REST and trust God for a fresh perspective with each new day He brings.
Have a great day RISING WITH RENEWED PERSPECTIVE FOR LIVING!
