The Here And Now! (part 12 of 13)
Who is EXALTED in our life? Self? A sports hero? A movie star? A
statesman? Who?
The one whom we aim to please most by our life is the one who will be
most EXALTED. And who we EXALT in life HERE AND NOW has a bearing on Who
will be EXALTED in death.
Paul stated His aim in these words:
"(20) as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at
all ashamed, but that with full courage NOW AS ALWAYS CHRIST WILL BE HONORED
IN MY BODY, whether by life or by death. (21) For to me to live is Christ,
and to die is gain." ( Philippians 1:20-21 ESV)
Regardless of what Paul was facing, his aim was to EXALT CHRIST! Christ
was the Lord of his life. Christ was his life! And with that resolve Paul
would even face death with his focus on Christ. Paul could retain such a
focus because he knew, in Christ, death was not loss, but gain.
May Jesus be EXALTED in our daily life NOW. And when we face death's
door, may He be EXALTED at that time as well. It will be to our benefit NOW
and to our greatest gain then. To EXALT Christ as the Lord of our life NOW,
will mean our ultimate EXALTATION into eternal glory through death.
Have a great day HOLDING CHRIST ABOVE ALL ELSE!
Carl
