Messengers Of God!

God’s messengers have taken on various forms (i.e. Hebrews 1:7) in order to fulfill the purposes for which they were sent. God’s purposes will prevail. ( Proverbs 19:21) Are we seeking for His purposes to be fulfilled in us? Are we encouraged by all that God has sent from above?

In a psalm David wrote as he hid from Saul, we read…
“(1) Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me, for in you my soul takes refuge; in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge, till the storms of destruction pass by. (2) I cry out to God Most High, to GOD WHO FULFILLS HIS PURPOSE FOR ME. (3) HE WILL SEND FROM HEAVEN AND SAVE ME; he will put to shame him who tramples on me. ‘Selah’ GOD WILL SEND OUT HIS STEADFAST LOVE AND HIS FAITHFULNESS!” ( Psalm 57:1-3 ESV)

David trusted in God to fulfill His purpose for his life. He continually looked above for the sending out of GOD’S STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS. Each deliverance David experienced was a view of GOD’S STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS.

What greater manifestation of GOD’S STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS has there been than the provision of deliverance that has come through the promised Messiah. God so loved the world that He sent His Son ( John 3:16) in fulfillment of the promise He had made to Abraham.

Jesus, when handed the scroll of Isaiah ( Luke 4:17), read from it and stated…
(18) ‘The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me TO PROCLAIM GOOD NEWS to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim LIBERTY TO THE CAPTIVES and recovering of SIGHT TO THE BLIND, to set at LIBERTY THOSE who are OPPRESSED, (19) to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’ (20) And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. (21) And he began to say to them, ‘TODAY THIS SCRIPTURE HAS BEEN FULFILLED IN YOUR HEARING.’” ( Luke 4:18-21 ESV)

God’s messengers of HIS STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS had been sent from above. Jesus the Messiah came as God’s “Good News”. He fulfilled the purpose of setting us free from sin by the shedding of His blood on the cross. He brought clarity to our vision of what God desires in our life. Our yoke of slavery to the oppression of sin has been lifted and we are free. Have we been listening to God’s messengers of STEADFAST LOVE AND FAITHFULNESS? If so, may we allow them to embolden our reliance upon Him as we open up our lives for Him to fulfill His good purposes in and through us.

Have a great day OF STEADFAST RELIANCE ON GOD!
Carl
