A Winner!

Sometimes when an individual is involved in a contest and does not win one of the top prizes, they are given what is called a “consolation prize.” This prize -- usually of much lesser value than what was hoped for -- is intended to console the feelings of disappointment for having not won. In life, when we might feel like the world is winning instead of us, do we hope for a “consolation prize” for our efforts or do we instead PRIZE THE CONSOLATION of the truth God has revealed regarding those who keep their faith in Him?

In view of the wickedness going on in the world, one of the Psalmists stated…
“When the cares of my heart are many, YOUR CONSOLATIONS CHEER MY SOUL.” ( Psalm 94:19 ESV)

The New Living Translation reads…
“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” (NLT, © 1997, Tyndale House)

Our view needs to remain focused on the promises God has revealed through His Word. Living on the side of God it matters not who or what might be against us. ( Romans 8:31 & 35-39) He is both able and faithful to bring His promises to fruition and secure our lives for an eternity with Him.

John encouraged…
“For EVERYONE WHO HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD OVERCOMES THE WORLD. And this is THE VICTORY that has overcome the world — OUR FAITH.” ( 1 John 5:4 ESV)

Our great CONSOLATION TO PRIZE is that what God ultimately has in store for us far outweighs anything we might endure presently. (note 2 Corinthians 4:16-18) We may lose some of life’s skirmishes, but like David let us remember the battle still belongs to the Lord. ( 1 Samuel 17:47) When we wonder about the direction of the world, as we live to please God we are the ones who will be the true winners!

Have a great day GAINING FIRST PRIZE BY KEEPING GOD FIRST!
