Desire's Partner!

It is good to have drive. We need a force behind us that moves us into action. We need an inner drive that spurs us on in life. Without such desire little will be accomplished by us. However, the possession of the desire is not sufficient by itself. There is another element that must be associated with our desire.

Solomon advised…
“DESIRE WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE IS NOT GOOD, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way.” ( Proverbs 19:2 ESV)

Are we all familiar with the expression “Haste makes waste”? Just launching into things because we have the desire to do them may end up wasting energy, resources, and time, as well as bringing about undesirable results. It is good to give some thought to what we desire to do. Proper KNOWLEDGE helps us shape and fine-tune our desires so that the actions can produce the right kind of results. Ambitious drive without adequate KNOWLEDGE can lead to really missing the mark!

Paul referred to those who had “a zeal for God, but not according to KNOWLEDGE” and in the pursuit of their own righteousness, they were missing the righteousness of God. ( Romans 10:2-3) May we keep the partnership of desire and KNOWLEDGE working in our life so that we will be able to remain on course in the Way and Will of God.

Have a great day IMPLEMENTING THE DESIRES OF GOD!
