The Beginning!

THE BEGINNING!

I wasn’t born yesterday so there are things which people can’t easily pull over on me. I have gained some wisdom over the years. I have gotten smart about a lot of things. However, there is still much for me to learn. At times I feel the need to find someone who is older and wiser to help me understand things better. There are people who have been around longer than I. Nevertheless, even then I recognize they too are limited in their knowledge as well.

When it comes to verifying the facts of particular events, it is wise to try to find sources relating to those happenings that are as close to the time of their occurrence as possible. The closer we can get to the eyewitness accounts the more reliable the information tends to be. In our attempt to come to grips with the truth regarding spiritual matters, the place to begin is with HE Who was from before the beginning.

Regarding JESUS, Paul noted…
“(15) HE IS the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. (16) For BY HIM all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities -- all things were created THROUGH HIM and FOR HIM. (17) And HE IS before all things, and IN HIM all things hold together. (18) And HE IS the head of the body, the church. HE IS THE BEGINNING, the firstborn from the dead, that IN EVERYTHING HE MIGHT BE PREEMINENT.” ( Colossians 1:15-18 ESV)

JESUS was there in the beginning when all of creation was brought into existence. BY HIM, THROUGH HIM, and FOR HIM all things were created! That being so, it is a sign of wisdom for us to seek to understand how all things properly relate to HIM. HE is the beginning and firstborn from the dead in the sense He arose never to die again. And in the power of His resurrection is the assurance of ours. ( 1 Corinthians 15:20-23) True life for us begins WITH HIM and our hope of eternal life depends ON HIM. Therefore it is important for us to live acknowledging that in all things JESUS is to be seen as PREEMINENT; number one supreme!

As we begin this New Year, may our steadfast resolve be FOR HIM to be truly seen as the Lord and Master of our life. HE wasn’t just born yesterday! HE has always been and ever will be! We can rely upon HIS wisdom!
