A Place For Prayer!
The statement has been made that seven days without prayer makes one weak. Here we are eight days into this new year. Have you been praying? Does prayer have an important place in your life? How strong our prayer life is can have a direct correlation with how strong we are in our Christian walk.
Paul urged the church at Thessalonica to…
“PRAY WITHOUT CEASING,” ( 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ESV, NKJV, KJV)
When Jesus told the parable of the persistent widow, Luke recorded…
“And he told them a parable to the effect that they OUGHT ALWAYS TO PRAY AND NOT LOSE HEART.” ( Luke 18:1 ESV)
Perhaps we think about the place of prayer being associated with meal time, bed time, worship assembly time, Bible study time, panic time, etc. However, we ought to consider the place for prayer being ANYTIME of day. Though Jesus referred to having some very private time for prayer ( Matthew 6:6) there is a sense in which a spirit of communication with our God should be ongoing. The most important room is the one we make in our life for UNCEASING prayer.
If we enjoy talking to those we love, remember God’s ear is attentive to our prayers ANYTIME, day or night. The combination of spending much time in God’s Word and time spent in prayer will help keep our faith and spirit strong. May we keep on talking and trusting as our relationship with Him continues.
Have a great day IN CONVERSATION WITH GOD!
Carl
