Above All!

When we consider all the things we need to focus on in life, we often find ourselves REPRIORITIZING in order to get it all in. What goes toward the top of the list may be constantly changing. However, what above all else must be our focus as we set our PRIORITIES? What must always take first place over everything else?

The psalmist David declared…
“I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for YOU HAVE EXALTED ABOVE ALL THINGS YOUR NAME AND YOUR WORD.” ( Psalm 138:2 ESV)

Affirming our Lord’s place, Paul affirmed…
“(9) Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him THE NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY NAME, (10) so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, (11) and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” ( Philippians 2:9-11 ESV)

This is the reality whether all accept it now or not. Does our life reflect our acceptance of this truth? Throughout each day there are many words we may hear and speak. Does the Word of God take PRIORITY over them all? And of all those whom we seek to please in life, is the NAME OF GOD and OUR LORD JESUS at the top of the list to be glorified in all our actions? Of all the concerns regarding daily living, the reflection of our life on God, His Word, and the position of the Lord in our life is to take top PRIORITY. May the wisdom of such PRIORITIZING be displayed in our life in a manner that draws others to do the same. Someday every knee will bow. ( Romans 14:11-12) May the bowing begin now!
