Place Of Remembrance!

I am always jotting things down on slips of paper. I don’t want to forget. I need reminders. My shirt pocket is sometimes full of little slips of paper which on occasion fall out when I bend over. There are times I will write something down on a little slip of paper only to lose it between or under other things on my desk. That’s why I also love “Post-it”® notes that I can stick up where they will catch my attention. However, even those can come lose and fall out of sight.

Note the following little poem I came across in a recent church bulletin.

LOVE YOU
I wrote your name on a piece of paper, but by accident I threw it away.
I wrote your name on my hand, but it washed away.
I wrote your name in the sand, but the wind whispered it away.
I wrote your name in my heart, and forever it will stay.

Those words reminded me of the connection Paul made with those with whom he had shared the gospel and labored. Like Christ, Paul appears to have been gifted at making a HEART CONNECTION with others.

To the church at Philippi he wrote…
“(7) It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I HOLD YOU IN MY HEART, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. (8) For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all WITH THE AFFECTION OF CHRIST JESUS.” ( Philippians 1:7-8 ESV)

Paul then went on to encourage these Christians to abound more and more in love. Genuine love shared by those who are in Christ creates a powerful pull drawing those HEARTS together. Once someone (or something) is in the HEART it is hard to forget. Even though miles may separate, holding others in the HEART allows the tie to remain unbroken and strong. May the writing in our HEART continue.

Have a great day CONTINUING TO ABOUND MORE IN LOVE!
Carl
