Dust To Glory!
Through the centuries men have made monuments and other structures heralded to be glorious that in time have been left in a heap of dust. As great as the accomplishments of men and women may have been through the ages, we must always keep in perspective that which is of lasting significance. There is far too much emphasis on what is fleeting while that which is lasting is either completely ignored or put off for some other moment.
We ought to be encouraged that our God does not need much to bring about that which is of lasting significance. As God brought all things into existence when He created this world and the universe in which we live, when He came to the crowning point of His creation -- the part that was to bear His image ( Genesis 1:27) -- with what did He begin? Was it silver? Was it gold? Was it stone that could weather the storms of this realm? No!
We read…
“(7) then the LORD GOD FORMED THE MAN OF DUST FROM THE GROUND and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature.” ( Genesis 2:7 ESV)
In the beginning man was created from the dust of the earth to possess the image of God and that life has continued on in the frailty of the flesh. However, that is not the extent of what God had in mind. God’s desire has always been to ultimately EXALT us in our humility and that humility must be retained for God to do the EXALTING. (i.e. James 4:6-10 & 1 Peter 5:5-6) As we continue to submit to Him He will bring about the glory He had in mind from the beginning.
When we have surrendered our life to Christ, note what Paul stated is to come.
“(3) For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. (4) When Christ who is your life appears, THEN YOU ALSO WILL APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY.” ( Colossians 3:3-4 ESV)
From dust to glory! Only God can bring about a work such as that. May we humbly submit to Him so that He will make it happen.
Have a great day LOOKING TO THE SIGNIFICANCE GOD PROVIDES!
