Dollars & Sense!

Recognizing VALUE as we spend our money and expend ourselves in labors of various sorts makes sense. Doing such reveals the possession of wisdom regarding life. Most people, when investing their money, strive to make sensible investments. The same wisdom needs to be exercised in the investment of our time and energy in the varying activities of life. However, it is sad to see those who seem to be unable to distinguish between that which is truly a good deal and that which is not. Many in this world appear to be investing their lives in foolishness and will end up losing more than they realize; their very soul! Do our priorities reflect a consciousness of where true VALUE lies? Do the ideas and the things we buy into reveal an understanding of what truly lasts.

Solomon encouraged…
“How much BETTER TO GET WISDOM THAN GOLD! TO GET UNDERSTANDING is to be chosen RATHER THAN SILVER.” ( Proverbs 16:16 ESV)

There are some things money cannot buy. Wisdom and understanding are of greater VALUE than gold and silver because how we live has an impact beyond the things of this earthly realm.

Solomon also warned…
“Why should a fool have MONEY in his hand TO BUY WISDOM when he has NO SENSE?” ( Proverbs 17:16 ESV)

Some have spent much money on education and yet still don’t appear to know how to live. There are some very “educated” fools in the world today; among whom are those who are continually learning, but never able (or willing) to acknowledge the truth. ( 2 Timothy 3:7)

May our life daily reveal our acknowledgement of the high VALUE of the wisdom of God as we continue to set aside our own desires and take hold of the life that the understanding of His Will provides.
