Must Do Our Part Too!

God has given us many marvelous assurances and promises. With each of these we should take God at His word. God is SERIOUS regarding what He offers us. That SERIOUSNESS should be recognized in His willingness to send His Son to redeem us and save us from our sins. Through our fellowship with Christ, God has provided the good way for life. Are we SERIOUS with regard to continuing down the road He has placed before us? How many want the blessings and gifts, but without any effort with regard to life change?

Someone has stated, “The way some say, ‘Get thee behind me, Satan,’ means, ‘Get behind and push.’” [source: sentence sermons] We need to recognize that the devil is a “pusher” and what he pushes takes us down the wrong road. Are we SERIOUS enough about keeping on track that we strive to keep as far away from temptation as possible? The devil is a game player and playing with temptation is a gamble we dare not wager.

Paul encouraged…
“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. GOD IS FAITHFUL, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation HE WILL ALSO PROVIDE THE WAY OF ESCAPE, that you may be able to endure it.” ( 1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV)

Though God provides the “way of escape” we still have to choose to use it. Are we SERIOUS enough about our relationship with God that we will seek it and go that way? The statement has also been made, “When you meet temptation, turn to the right.” [source: sentence sermons] Turning to the right is turning away from temptation and away from Satan. As it is with anger, so it should be with regard to temptation that we be SERIOUS about not giving the devil an opportunity. (Eph. 4:27) Resisting the devil while submitting to God ( James 4:7) is what will aid us in keeping life on the right road. May we continue to travel the way He continues to open before us.

Have a great day MEETING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS BY FAITHFULLY FOLLOWING HIM!
