Having Been Consecrated! (1 of 3)
To be consecrated (sanctified or made holy) should inspire us to rejoice in thanksgiving to God Who has provided the means of being made holy in Christ. Having been sanctified by the blood of Jesus is also to dramatically impact the way we live our daily life. Is that holiness being MADE EVIDENT? Someone has said, “Consecration means to be, to do, and to suffer the will of God.” [source: list of sentence sermons]
To be, to do, and to suffer; all in accord with God’s Will. Consider the first of these three today.
Paul, beginning his letter to the church at Corinth, wrote…
“To the church of God that is in Corinth, to THOSE SANCTIFIED IN CHRIST JESUS, CALLED TO BE SAINTS together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours.” ( 1 Corinthians 1:2 ESV)
Having been sanctified in Christ, we have been called TO BE saints or holy ones. As this is the essence of God it is TO BE the essence of OUR BEING as well. (i.e. 1 Peter 1:15-16) Such is TO BE characteristic of our whole spirit, soul and body. ( 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
May we look to God for the strength to keep from having the world pull us down from the high calling we have received. Let us continually strive TO BE what He has made us TO BE!
Have a great day BEING A HOLY CHILD OF GOD!
