Time And Place?
For us to remember and be faithful in attending set times for assembly and worship together is important. The Hebrew writer exhorted his readers to not forsake their assembling together because it was an opportunity not only to WORSHIP, but to “stir up one another to love and good works” and encourage each other. ( Hebrews 10:23-25) However, is that the extent of our WORSHIP as if it were controlled by a switch we turned on and off in accordance with some schedule?
Someone has urged, “Our worship should not be confined to times and places; it should be the spirit of our life.” [source: sentence sermons]
Isn’t that what Paul implied when he wrote the following?
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to PRESENT YOUR BODIES AS A LIVING SACRIFICE, holy and acceptable to God, WHICH IS YOUR SPIRITUAL WORSHIP.” ( Romans 12:1 ESV)
Any time and any place our life is to be lived in WORSHIP to God. A worshipful spirit is exhibited in our life as we seek to please God and uphold His standard in the choices of activities in which we involve ourselves. Retaining the regular habit of times and places together for WORSHIP should not be neglected. However, let us not limit the WORSHIP of our lives to only a few hours a week. May it truly be the spirit in which we live every hour of our life before God.
Have a great day OF LIVING PRAISE TO GOD!
